In training

Ever since I moved here I have been chasing squirrels up trees, across lawns and through the park. I have ignored really cute dogs, fast little kids (my second favorite thing to chase) and even TREATS from weird grown ups. All I want is to get my paws on a squirrel. And they only laugh and throw empty nut shells at me. Do you know how infuriating that is? Not to mention kind of embarassing? (ALMOST as embarassing as having the love of your life cheat on you IN PUBLIC at a watering hole...Henry, you're still in the dog house)

Anyway, what I'm learning is that climbing the trees isn't helping my cause here. And the longer I stand at the bottom, the higher my bark becomes and the more the squirrel jib jabs away and shakes its tail like a stupid pom pom.

I've decided to come up with a new plan of attack. I'm practicing my stretches. I think if I can get as flat as possible and camouflage myself as something they are used to seeing, I can catch one.

I'm pretty sure I've got the "flat" thing down. Now I have to figure out how to inch along the ground with this huge piece of palm tree on my back. I think I look more like a turtle than anything else, but maybe squirrels like turtles...
